Indo Defence 2014 Expo & Forum : Introducing international defense industry exhibition

In addition, with its vast geographical spread, the need to upgrade its military equipment and technology is critical in maintaining the country’s security. At the Indo Defence 2014 Expo same time, the Indonesian defence Industry has embraced the concept of cooperation and joint venture in promoting the growth of this sector. It is not surprising, therefore,  that Indonesia is the bright spot for vendors of military technology and services in the region.

has proven to be the event where key decision maker gather. This exhibition provides a perfect interactive platform for the defence forces to assess the best products and technology to cater for their respective defence-related requirements. Besides, it also presents an ideal opportunity to the military for entering into collaboration and joint ventures with Indonesian defense industries and partnerships.

Some of the  latest top  products in the  military, aviation, and nautical defence and security technologies will be showcased at the Indo Defence 2014 Expo scheduled to take place at the Jakarta International Exhibition Center, Jakarta from 5th to 8th November 2014. The event is presented by the Ministry of Defence of the  Republic Indonesia.                                                                        

At least 29 of 56 countries invited will send their official delegations to witness the Indo Defence 2014 Expo & Forum, themed "World Defense Technology Improvement," Director General of Defense Potential at the Defense Ministry Dr Timbul Siahaan said here on Friday.

The 29 countries Indo Defence 2014 Expo are Qatar, Malaysia, Belarus, Timor Leste, Japan, Serbia, Pakistan, Sweden, Portugal, Laos, Poland, the Philippines, Brazil, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Turkey, the United Kingdom, France, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Korea, India, Egypt, Australia, the United States, Iran, Cambodia, Russia and Thailand.

According to Timbul, the Indo Defence 2014 Expo & Forum is a platform for international defense and security equipment manufacturers to promote their products. This year, 700 foreign and domestic defense and security manufacturers will display their state-of-the-art products at the biennial event.
"The foreign companies that will participate include General Dynamics, BAE Systems, Rosoboronexport, Sukhoi Aviation, Avibras, Airbus Defence, DSME, Damen Schelde, Lockheed Martin, Northtrop Grumman, Embraer Defence & Systems, SAAB, Thales Air Defence, Beretta Defence Technologies, and Bell Helicopter Textron," he said.

Indo Defence 2014 ExpoNational defense industries such as PT. DI, PT Pindad, PT LEN, PT Dok Koja Bahari, PT INTI, PT Krakatau Steel, PT Industri Kapal Indonesia, PT PAL, dan PT Dahana, PT Bhimasena, PT CMI, PT Sari Bahari, PT Garda Persada, T&E Simulation, PT Farin Indonesia, PT Palindo Marine, and PT Tesco Indomaritim will also participate in the four-day expo, he added.

Government agencies including the Sea Security Board, the National Search and Rescue Agency, the Agency for the Application and Assessment of Technology, the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, the National Defense Forces (TNI), the National Police, the Transport Ministry, and the Industry Ministry will also join the expo.

The ministry of Defence of Republic of Indonesia will once again host The 6th Indonesia’s No. 1 Official Tri Service Defence Event – Indo Defence 2014 Expo & FORUM. It will host over 800 exhibitors from 50 countries and 20,000 delegates and trade visitors. This is back of the overwhelming success of Indo Defence 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 will undoubtedly be the platform for international defence industry to showcase a full range of military products and technology to meet the increasing demand of the local defence industry.
